Vehicle–bridge interaction and driving accident risks under skew winds

چکیده

This paper proposes a new methodology to simulate wind fields that are non-orthogonal the structure and traffic direction, it presents first wind–vehicle–bridge interaction (W-VBI) analysis framework account for skew effects on driving safety. The three-directional generated match well target frequency content correlation properties along deck. W-VBI is applied study of vehicles crossing long bridge wide range incidence angles. It observed even though purely cross-winds increase vehicle–bridge interaction, headwinds more likely cause accidents.
